STRANGE DREAM

Early this morning I return

To catch up on lost sleep

Drifting soon in to blissful slumber

I viewed myself walking briskly

Wading  past  crowded roads

Amidst busy-bodies buyers and sellers

To my old friend’s home.

A reunion I was catching up 

After short time lapse in relationships,

Exuberantly wanting to display my writings,

Disappointed my friend was not in .

About to return found to my surprise

Her daughters with some other  little children

Expressing  hesitatingly  they were to skip lunch

Woefully expressing  that they had to wait for her return .

I wondered how my friend had forgotten

To make lunch for them so ,volunteered

Rushing  home to prepare  for them .

Rehearsing a quick menu

I winded my way through

Now roads were busier than usual

Hustle and bustle of voices heard all over

From  tea shops ,side -walk restaurants

Vendors, groceries and  fruit sellers .

Fascinated ! I pondered to myself

Strangely how  life  speeds  on   

All caught up in worlds of their own

’Have no time ‘’I told myself to give ear to them all

I jogged along and a premonition struck me.

Some  sixth sense sending  a warning signal but

Preoccupied I gave no thought  rushed  on ahead !

In  split second found in direct collision

An auto dashing head - on throwing me in to the air.

Sensing an in-excruciable pain somewhere in my head region

Slipped I into unconsciousness then in to a state of Nirvana

I could sense my spirit  standing beside my body

Crowds of people around me probing pushing

I could hear them speak a few Ah’s!  and  Oh’s !!

A woman bending over felt my nostrils concluded

I am dead! Verdict like in the manner of a physician ..

Realization dawned on me hearing her words ..

Watched I  the  scene  with  avid  interest

Woman picking up my mobile clutched in hand

Calling up numbers informing  my best student

And then  in random to all

Every one rushing in panic I guess!

When all on a sudden my heart ached

As tears dropped like  fountain just released

I had a unique friend an unconditional - loving ,

Selfless human being  who had seen me through

My up’s and downs  thick and thin 

But strangely that person not informed

I await ….. await …. Tears non stop  flowing ….

My spirit not resting until I saw that face around

Eventually I do get to see

when information  is sent to Quilon

Then found my spirit relaxing

Hovering some few seconds

Then viewed  my self

Zooming away to get lost

Among the  galaxies and  skies

Blissfully detached from the world

Feeling an exuberant ecstasy of release 

This must be heaven I thought to myself …

As the  door bell  blared, woke me up

Shaking  me to a startling consciousness

Shivered I wondering whether real?

A dream after all I consoled myself 

Will it come true ??

Morning dreams  do come true they say ??

Shall have to wait to see  …..

Ironical? I guess  I  may not  see !

Or may be I will….?
